The Henrietta Garden Club cordially invites VHT members to attend its March 11th meeting at the Henrietta Town Hall, 675 Calkins Road, Henrietta NY 14623, West side entrance, lower level community room at 7:00pm (social gathering 6:30pm to 7:00pm):

Jules Hoepting - an Environmental Educator for New York State Parks will deliver a presentation entitled "Many Lives of the Genesee Valley Greenway State Park"

The 90-mile state park has witnessed a whirlwind. First, an ambitious canal with a dramatic route. Then, a railroad connecting 16 communities from the rumbling city of Rochester to rural agricultural towns. After being abandoned for decades, the Greenway is reclaiming itself as a recreational trail. The route has touched a lot of lives; from the humans who dug the canal to modern dog-walkers and hikers enjoying the life of the wetlands, meadows, forests, bird, turtles, beavers and more along the route today.
